Brøndby (4th) blew their chance of winning gold medals by losing to league
leaders AaB (2-0) last weekend. A fair result, Brøndby were not good enough. Offensively
they are too wasteful and defensively they are often saved by quality actions
of keeper Lukas Hradecky. The match against AaB welcomed back Khalid Boulahrouz
to the central defence and Brøndby are finally able to field the preferred
backline after continuous injury issues. Quincy Antipas is suspended, but he is
not a regular, so the effect is limited. SønderjyskE (12th) are still alive
thanks to a late own goal by Michael Lumb last weekend (1-1 vs. FC
Vestsjælland). They will at some point need to start winning matches, and if
you look at past H2H’s this could be a good game to start. SønderjyskE have
actually not lost to Brøndby in the last six H2H’s. It will be a difficult
challenge nevertheless, but with the return of winger Johan Absalonsen and
central defender Pierre Kanstrup the chances look better. Important striker
Tommy Bechmann’s participation is doubtful.
Brøndby are the favourites of the bookies despite of the poor H2H record.
It makes good sense however, since Brøndby are the better team and they should
also win. But the odds around 1.80 are not very interesting. It is a no bet
match for us, but if we had to pick we would take the over 2.5 goals, mostly
based on gut feeling. SønderjyskE are not particularly strong at defending,
while having some good offensive threats.
Idea: Over 2.5 goals - 1.94 at Betfair
