FC Vestsjælland-Esbjerg

Sunday 20/10 14.00
In their last three matches FC Vestsjælland (7th) are without a single win. They have played well and they were unlucky not getting the victory against the other promoted team, Viborg. With a lucky draw versus the top team FC Midtjylland in their last match, they are now hosting one of the contenders, Esbjerg fB (3rd). They last played against each other a month ago when Esbjerg visited and back then, it was a one-sided match. Esbjerg dominated in the first half and had a comfortable 0-3 lead going to the break. A quick goal from the home team did not help and the full time result was 1-3. This time around nothing looks like it would change. Left back for FC Vestsjælland Michael Lumb could be out and this will open up the right side for Esbjerg. The Ankersen brothers are going to have a lot of space to work with and this will be a thorn in the flesh for the home team. Winger Jacob Ankersen scored two of the goals in the last match-up and got a international call-up in return. None of the two teams have suspensions. Esbjerg on the other hand have some injuries. Winger Emil Lyng is out and we expect Jesper Rasmussen will replace him. This might even strengthen the Esbjerg team. Lyng has a tendency to be total anonymous in a game and Rasmussen has showed that he can score.

Peter and Jacob Ankersen possibly playing against a reserve from FC Vestsjælland will be decisive in this match. There is not much that can stop the brothers. Even if Lumb is playing it looks like an uneven match-up. The hosts will try to keep the score line equal and take a defensive stand, but we do not expect it to be adequate.
