AaB-Viborg

Sunday 06/10 13.00
AaB (4th) are not in the best shape at the moment. They have made three disappointing performances in a row (including the cup match in Køge). The problem is mainly originating from the attacking line, where AaB lack in-form strikers. They tried fielding their new Swede, Rasmus Jönsson, in last match but he was not able to deliver. In total, AaB had only eight attempts (only one at goal) in that match. AaB could bolster their strong midfield if veteran Rasmus Würtz returns from injury, although it is unlikely to make much difference whether he or alternative Augustinussen plays. Viborg (3rd) have been over-performing so far. Praises to their coach Ove Christensen who has made wonders with the material, but at some point it must come to an end. Last round they were lucky to beat other newcomer FC Vestsjælland. After a poor performance they managed to seal the deal with two very late goals. Viborg had a tough time creating chances and it seems like striker Thomas Dalgaard is far from his best (last goal is more than a month ago). In the last match Viborg had eleven attempts, but the numbers does not tell the whole truth since several of the chances came in the last minutes where FC Vestsjælland took huge risks. Viborg will be without long-term injured Egeris and Lerager.

It is the closest you will get to a Northwestern Denmark derby so atmosphere is bound to be good. We have a feeling that it might be a boring experience since both teams are not very dangerous currently. Furthermore AaB have a tendency to play low-scoring matches at home (1.6 goal average) and similarly for Viborg when playing away (2.4 goal average). AaB are natural favourites to win, but we cannot find value due to their lack of a striking force.

Recommendation: Under 2.5 – 2.14 Betfair
