FC
Midtjylland (1st) took a remarkable win at Club Brügge (3-1) in midweek. The
last time they played Europa League, they played poorly in the league (lost at
home 0-1 to FC Nordsjælland). They will be very focused not to let this happen
again. There is a break for internationals after the match, so FC Midtjylland
is set to use the strongest eleven. They are bothered by injuries however; right
back captain Kristian Bach Bak is injured, central defender Erik Sviatchenko
and strikers Martin Pusic and Morten Duncan are doubtful. It is obvious that it
will be problematic if all these players are out, although FC Midtjylland have
the most squad depth in the league. In front, the big Nigerian striker Poul
Onuachu could get a rare start. Look out for winger Pione Sisto who looks to be
finding form. He can really hurt the AGF defence. AGF (9th) have not won in the
last seven rounds. Some of the performances have been fine, but in general it
has been disappointing. There was some glimmer of hope in the last match, where
winger Aleksandr Cavric played excellently after coming from the bench. He
should start here. AGF have a solid midfield, a fairly toothless attack and a
defence that commits many personal mistakes. No important injuries for AGF.
How will FC
Midtjylland go into the match? That will be pretty decisive. If they are without
a number of players it could be difficult, although the team should be stronger
than AGF’s in any case. However, if FC Midtjylland brings Sviatchenko and
Duncan or Pusic and all the other regular starters, odds 1.75 for a home win is
a fine price. Therefore, this will be the idea pick here.
