Nordsjælland (12th) have had a terrible start: 0 points and a goal difference
of 0-5. They have lost star winger Uffe Bech, but otherwise they should not be
that weakened. It seems like it is also becoming a mental thing. However, they
played a decent game at Randers, which was way more even than the score line
implies (3-0). Now they return to the home field, where they typically have a
big advantage due to the artificial pitch. They should also benefit from
central midfielder Thorarinsson being a bit closer to his best after returning
last weekend. AaB (3rd) took a late but deserved win at Hobro last weekend.
They seem to be suffering from a lack of confidence for the strikers, so there
is a lot of pressure on the midfielders to make something happen. They have
been fairly good at doing so, but there are uncertainties regarding the two
central midfielders Kasper Risgård and Rasmus Würtz. Both a suffering with
minor injuries and might not be playing here. This would really harm AaB’s
chances as they are among the best central midfield duos in the league.
Defensively, AaB have some problems, which was also visible in a 4-1 friendly
match versus Hamburger SV on Tuesday.
It seems
like the market really believes in an AaB win, which is natural due to the poor
start of FC Nordsjælland. However, the current odds for an FC Nordsjælland home
win seem like too much. They are traditionally a strong home team and have no
injury worries. AaB on the other half are also traditionally stronger at home
and have several injury worries. AaB should be favourites, but we do not expect
them to be as big favourites as the bookies imply.
