Suffering teams would like to use the international break as a new start after a terrible period; and both
teams in this match-up are in dire need a new start. With six losses in a row SønderjyskE (12th) are huge
favourites for relegation. With midfielder Henrik Hansen suspended and
midfielder Bo Storm injured again things are not looking good for the hard tested
team. As we here have showed, in a three part post, the bad form
that SønderjyskE have showed are due to the fact that they cannot create chances. With regards to the PDO, their shots are often saved, and their own saving
percentage is only just better than Esbjerg’s (8th). Therefore it is important that striker Tommy Bechmann has returned to the squad, although we think that he will only be able to play a minor part in this match. Esbjerg’s ability to create chances are on the
other hand much better than their rivals. They have just been really unlucky in the last few matches.
The weakness in set pieces have been exploited a couple of times and this is a main reason for the bad form. The veteran midfielder Hans Henrik Andreasen and winger Emil Lyng are suspended but both replacements Jeppe Andersen and Casper
Nielsen have proved to be worthy reserves so that would not be an issue. But what makes matters worse is the absence of strong central midfielder Lekven. Bergvold is the obvious candidate to cover the spot, but his level is clearly not as high.
It is hard
to see how SønderjyskE can get out of the pit they are in. Six losses in a row is really something! In this derby it
looks like Esbjerg will end their bad run and get the three
essential points that are needed in this close league.
