FC Nordsjælland-SønderjyskE

Saturday 9/11 17.00
FC Nordsjælland (11th) got their feet back on the ground losing 4-0 in Parken after an exceptional performance by FC Copenhagen in the second half. And a concerning one by FC Nordsjælland. Nordsjælland looked like the team from last years Champions League that played too naïve against a better opponent and ended up getting a beating. That match and this, the upcoming, is not comparable though. This is a match between number 11 and 12 – a match for survival. FC Nordsjælland is the better. They have a better squad and their eternal advantage of playing at home on their artificial turf (12 points gained at home vs. 3 points away). FC Nordsjælland will probably be without regular midfielder Anders Christiansen who left with an injury in Parken. Christiansen were due to Nordsjælland’s long list of injuries forced to play as a striker. Their best offensive weapon, striker Morten Nordstrand, played first half for the reserves on Tuesday so he might be available for the starting line-up. Otherwise Nordsjælland will have to rely on their strong left wing with Joshua John and Patrick Mtiliga. SønderjyskE (12th) have lost five matches in a row with a score of 4-16. They looked drained from belief of survival. SønderjyskE have to remind themselves that the last win they got was against exactly FC Nordsjælland. This match marked the turnaround for both teams; for Nordsjælland a winning streak and for SønderjyskE the opposite. The difference between now and then is that the game is played in Farum (Nordsjælland) and SønderjyskE are without their offensive troublemaker, Tommy Bechmann. Furthermore the backbone of the team is severely weakened by the absence of central defender Lodberg, while midfielder Guira is also suspended leaving a limited squad behind. Right back Hart was absent due to injury in the last match, but the alternative Gundelach is of similar quality. Fun fact though: FC Nordsjælland owns Gundelach. No matter who plays, Nordsjælland should have a strong match-up against that position.

With the poor form and mentality of SønderjyskE in mind only one outcome seems likely. The odds have however dropped to a place without value, but we choose the home win as an idea, since it is our pick if you have to bet on this match. Otherwise sit back and enjoy a match that could either leave SønderjyskE alone in the darkness or drag Nordsjælland back into it.
