With 11
points in the last five matches, FC Copenhagen (3rd) have resurrected as the giant
of Danish football. We have mentioned it before and we are going to do it
again: the signing of coach Ståle Solbakken seems like a brilliant move. Since
his entry FC Copenhagen have gradually improved and although they are probably
not fully where they want to be, they are definitely close (underlined by their
impressive win against Galatasaray in the Champions League). The defence and
midfield are the forces; especially wingers Jørgensen and Gislason are good and
have brilliant match-up’s for this match. FC Copenhagen won the last match in
Viborg 4-1 (won the shooting statistic 27-10). FC Copenhagen will be without
midfielder Claudemir and either Thomas Kristensen or Youssef Toutouh will
replace him. We would select the latter since he has more to offer in the
offensive part. Viborg (6th) are the sensation of the season. Based on their
SoTR they should be at the very bottom of the league. They are usually under
pressure in their matches, but the lethal weapon Thomas Dalgaard (league top
scorer with 10 goals) has been their savour so far. With an insanely high
scoring percentage of 38.5 % (league average 28.1 %) Viborg have managed to
hang on to the rest of the pack. We do not see this go on and we expect Viborg
to drop positions in the coming rounds. Viborg will be without left back
Christopher Poulsen and winger Aleksandar Stankov. The absence of Poulsen is
critical since this gives the strong wingers of Copenhagen a big advantage.
FC
Copenhagen outplayed Viborg the last time the two teams met. This time it is in
Parken, where FC Copenhagen are traditionally much stronger. Viborg are one of
the weakest teams in the league and should face a long match. Especially since
key defender Poulsen is out. FC Copenhagen to win by more than one (like they
have done in last two home games as well) is our Tip of the Week.
