FC
Copenhagen (11th), the defending champions, are placed beneath the relegation
line after almost a third of the tournament. If you refrain from putting consideration
in this week’s poor results (0-4 at Real Madrid and 2-3 at Brøndby), they are
actually improving a lot. The key is their new coach Ståle Solbakken, who has
made the players improve their ambition. But there are also some concerns, new
striker Fanendo Adi is struggling with his first touches while the right hand
side consisting of winger Bolaños and back Jacobsen is far from it’s top level.
Copenhagen will be without left back Bengtsson and they will probably have to
fill the gap with one of their young talented right backs. SønderjyskE (10th)
are really struggling at the moment. They lost 4-1 in Esbjerg last weekend,
where their defensive vulnerability was obvious. They are still struggling with
injuries so their tactical possibilities are highly limited. Nevertheless it
was probably a good move to sign free agent Daniel Jensen to bolster the
midfield. His passing skills will be much needed in later matches, but it is
unlikely to have much impact in this match where SønderjyskE’s only chance will
be their counters. The SønderjyskE offense does not seem high on confidence at
the moment though, so unlikely that they will be a huge counter threat.
Despite of
the proximity in the current table, we find FC Copenhagen big favourites. They
are simply stronger: better material, home field advantage, better morale. The
odds are not very impressive however, so we’ve decided only to post this as an
idea.
